Course objectives:

By the end of the course, students should:

1. understand the nature of the European Union and its governance
2. have a detailed knowledge of some areas of EU policy making, such as employment and social affairs, justice and home affairs, economic and monetary affairs, agriculture and environment
3. be able to analyse the challenges faced  formulating and implementing EU policies.
