The course aims to provide an overview of the selected topics of European folklore in historical context. It is dedicated to the understanding of folklore transmission in historical context from the perspective of folkloristics and anthropology. Attention will be paid in particular to the connection between transmission of epic folklore and political processes in Europe; and folklore motives in contemporary popular culture.
