23/24 HYBRID THREATS AND INFORMATION OPERATIONS IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: A EUROPEAN PERSPECTIVE

The course aims to provide students with understanding the concept of hybrid warfare and hybrid threats, the historic and current use of activities constituting hybrid threats with a specific focus on information operations and thier role in international relations. Particular attention will be paid to public policies adopted in this area at level of EU and in its Member States as well as identifying examples of good practice in addressing these threats.

 The approach and the methodology of the course is an interdisciplinary one: combining security studies, international relations, European studies, 20th century history, military theory, international public law, communication theory.

In addition to the academic readings, videos and case studies for group work will be used.
